I quit the FP cold turkey about a month and a half ago, and after the first week, I don't even miss it.

I can’t look at the FP on mobile anymore. Autoplay video ads, popups from the bottom of the page, none of the actual content loads.

At this point I’ll suffer through Gravedigger’s NPoCP, and the Morning Shift, but that’s about it. Laptop’s ad-blocking is decent enough , but they’ve done a great job of making the FP inaccessible on a pretty standard mobile platform.

Sometimes I actually wonder if it would have been better if the staff just did what Deadspin did and end Jalopnik on a high note. Instead we have the slow trickle of death. SS, PG, AK, KL, MB all leaving... Now things are getting worse and worse. Jalopnik is becoming the Nissan of Car Blogs.

Nah, Mitsubishi would be more apt for a Car Blog that I keep forgetting exists until someone reminds me.

Jalopnik is more like Nissan. They used to make some interesting and good stuff, now they’re just hoping to get by on their name recognition and move as many units as they can without really trying.

I really do think of it like Mitsu. Don’t care about it, every once in awhile I will see something that makes me think “wonder what they are up to now,” check it out and determine the answer to that question is “nothing.”

I gave up on Tracy when he wrote that “I’m the POS neighbor that has shitboxes stacked up in my yard and now I have to get rid of them so everyone should feel bad for me” post.

I love Torch’s weirdness, and Andrew’s a good guy, but the rest just seem so out of touch.

EDIT: NPOCP is still excellent!

Blergh. They’ve always had Amazon affiliate links on the front page , but only when linking to products makes sense. I hated the stupid holiday gift guides because that was the only time that adding a bunch of Amazon links in was A Thing. Otherwise, that’s The Inventory’s schtick .

The response sort of made sense in its original context, but missed the fact that my comment was very clear & obvious sarcasm.

Repeated in 25 other places, it became a profane mantra. Too long for a good screen name, though.
